I live an hour away from LSU but I work in BR, so it's easier to go there. Plenty of late drives home on deck
First up, Chem 1202 (?) this summer with geology and Calc 1 this fall....fml

Chemistry is easy. Just apply math to it
Geology is just memorizing stuff
Calc can be hard if you haven't done math in a long time. I had to relearn basic math while in Calc 1, but do all of the homework and make decent grades on the tests. They will probably curve 10pts at the end

I had to take a placement to test directly into Calc, so it's helped in remembering the basic rules.

Go for it Brotha! Engineering is a good choice!

I'm 6 hours shy of my master's degree at 37. It gets to be a real grind having to complete classwork every weekday after work and every weekend. I've been piecing my degree together one class at a time. I couldn't imagine starting a bachelor's degree from scratch.
But like I read before I started my program. You're going to be 35 (36, 37?) at some point, anyway. Would you rather be that age with or without a degree?
FWIW, I find school even easier now than when I graduated in 2001. So many students now have little work ethic.

One of my buds and classmate from school was 51 or so when he graduated (engineering). That was damn near 20 years ago and he's still at it.

You will never be to old to learn! Go for it!

dead is too old. other than that, no age is too old.

If such an age exists, 31 is nowhere near close to it. In my PA class we had 3 students older than 55.

No such thing
My dad never had his bachelors until may 2009.
He got his masters last year
Will have his doctorate next year
He'll be 60

Thoughts?
The process of learning doesn't end until we die, with a few exceptions. It's never too late to go to school.

I'm 31 and thinking of going back. I'm joining the guard so will have tuition exemption and already have the GI Bill sitting there waiting to be used from previous service, so I'd basically be getting paid to go to school. How far behind would I be? Also, I'm married with two kids, 6 and 8. What I even be able to put in the required study time?
I'm not sure what it is now, but you had to enlist in the guard for 6 years to get the tuition exemption...that was back in medieval times, though. I'm not sure what the GI Bill covers, but I'm kind of shocked that it isn't enough that you need to go the guard route.

I don't know what your wife does for a living, but I hope it's decent. What you're going to be paid, wouldn't be enough to support you, much less a wife and two kids.

900 years. When 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not. So, never. Yoda learned until the end.
Who knew that expanding your knowledge and learning new things to become a better individual could unite the OT, beta baw German. /sarcasm off
Go. Learn. Learn like the wind!

School isn't the reason I'm hoping the guard. I've got 14 years in the military already and am just trying to get my 20. But since they have tuition exemption I might as well take advantage.

Do me one favor when you do enroll, though you owe me no favors. You walk into that classroom and kill it. Just take no prisoners and kill the coursework. There is something satisfying being the motivated a-hole in the class that ignores "you're too old to be here" and just wrecks shop because you give a damn about what you're learning.
It took my second time around to realize that little fact. A bit of age, a bit of wisdom, with a bit of knowledge, with some drive ends up putting you way ahead of most of your classmates, if not all of them.

Never too old...I remember my freshman year, I had 60yr old grandmothers in class with me.

I'm 40 and getting my masters.
If that helps...

I went back to Grad School at age 34, I had several folks in their 50's and 60's in my classes.

I'll be 30 in July and I'm using my Post 9/11 for school. My wife is using hers as well so she can do a Physical Therapy Assistant gig. I'm shooting for an IT degree as engineering isn't really Georgia's thing.
I had previous credits from the college on base and hopefully my new school is SMART friendly. CTC gave me 49 hours.
