Minute twenty zoom call to her employees - Youtube

I'm a capitalist and I get the financials of it. Probably not the best tone to address it.
"You can visit pity city, but you can't live there"

"Spend your time thinking about the 26 million dollars we need, not thinking about what you are going to do if you don't get a bonus!"

I don't completely disagree with what was said to be honest. A bonus is not guaranteed especially in tough times. People are too damn entitled.

I am more amazed every day at the number of legitimate idiots that have found their way into leadership of corporate America and our government. Ivy league good old boy (and girl) club certainly takes care of their own.

she's not worried about a bonus because she probably got hers a long with stock options. I saw this shite during Covid, partners complaining about productivity from their second houses in the mountains while their employees were stuck in apartments with roommates just trying to get through the day. I love where I currently work and respect my current bosses, but I'd be very, very irritated if my bonus was pulled.

If their plan was “cut headcount so salaries go down”, mission accomplished.

No, not at all. But she tanked whatever motivation her employees had by handling it that way for sure. Tone deaf coming from the well compensated CEO. They made more money than ever before during COVID.

No, I don't think I will.

It’s sad these days how many people want to be “tipped” these days

Yeah they might call it a bonus but y’all office workers expecting a bonus every year are no better than the vaping teens at starbucks

It's a good way to get rid of the expensive, talented people.

Are people upset with this? Maybe I need more context.

If I worked for a company where that lady was a leader I’d quit after having to watch that.

Sounds like something the owner of a company I worked at a while back would have said after screwing everyone out of their bones (minus sales and leadership, of course).

I think it's just counter productive. When the queen tells the peasants to work harder and figure out how to plug the financial hole her leadership brought them to. The attitude was shitty when she still took her 1.2M bonus.

Yea, I really don't get it. Did they qualify for a bonus, and the company refused to pay? If so, that's no-bueno.

Or, as I suspect, did they not qualify for the bonus and are mad about that?

If that is the case, I have no issues with a CEO coming down hard on what I assume are sales and leadership, not some schmuck in the warehouse.

While true, a lot of companies tout that as part of the benefits package when you sign on. So by not getting it, you are making a lot less and may have turned down offers that made more but didn't have bonus offerings.

Hahah this is a good example of how you do not motivate employees. She started good but went off the rails. Message to her employees although not intended, I do not care about your circumstances, just make me 26 million. Seriously, why mention all the problems of supply chair and covid, yet keep the standards the same, basically make us all this money with an impossible standard to make your bonus.

Then that's not a bonus. If you accept that job and assume that is guaranteed income, then you deserve what you get (or don't get)

She should have said, “no one, including me and the rest of executive leadership, is getting a bonus, either”
