A whole lot more than that. Probably 8-12 hours a week with friends at least and I couldn't tell you on family but it is a lot.

A ton with family and a lot with neighbor friends. I have a huge family and it's very similar to my big fat Greek wedding.

Why?

As for the OP, if we're saying family as in wife and kids, I spend roughly 45 hours a week with family, and 4 or so with friends. Probably 80% of the tike the friends and family time overlap.

Are you talking immediate family?

Sure, immediate family if you have one ... or extended family (relatives) if that's what you have. Whichever group you see most frequently.

Wife and kids...90% of the time i'm not working or sleeping.

I just moved to a new state, only have a couple of friends, so not much. Try to get together at least once per week or every other week though for a couple to a few hours at a time.

I try to spend time with gfs once a week if possible.

Otherwise my time off in the evenings/weekends is usually spent with my husband.

Over the past 5 years I spend more time with friends than family.

two brothers and one sister.

Parents are all right I guess. But they criticize everyone around them. get a little perturbed if you don't agree with them.

Older brother is a nice guy but not one to communicate unless he has good things going on. then acts like his shite does not stink. its really hard to learn how to be close to him because of that.

Younger brother is pretty pompous and a bit of a liar(tells everyone, and his employer, that he graduated form college - but he didn't - what's worse is my parents protect him by lying for him as well). only one with a family so he feels as if he is more accomplished in life. way too competitive with his brothers. which is why I am very secretive about my finances with my family. don't want to look like the arse he is.

My sister is cool as hell and we are pretty close. pretty similar people.

my friends and I are just a bit more flexible for each other. bounce investment ideas off each other. give legitimate life advice. no agenda.
