Having to write down directions to someone's house. If you were a true baw you had a dog eared mapsco in the truck.

honestly I probably haven't heard/thought of the concept of free nights and weekends in 5+ years

given how much this kind of topic comes up, that's amazing

I don't know anybody's number now. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember my own.

When I was really young, our VCR "remote" was attached via a cord.

1996...I'm not even sure we had internet in our house at that time, if not it was probably just a year or 2 after. Those early days we had to unplug one or our phone cords and plug it into a different outlet to get internet. If you were on the internet you couldn't use the phone. Dial-up internet that took forever, AOL chat rooms, AIM, etc.

God that AOL screenshot is thrilling even today

Kids now won't understand, but the first couple of years we had AOL was just an amazing time to be alive

ETA: the gif of the scrambled channel is also thrilling for different reasons

The jump was bigger from 1975 to1995 than what the last 20 years have been.... all these everyday gadgets are ruining the world though..... and make people way to lazy.....it's amazing the older generation even survived without all this crap....

my dad had one of the old mesh satellite dishes that moved. He had a "descrambler"

I got busted so many times . All the neighborhood friends would come over for the porn. We'd have someone watching down the street to see if he's coming. Little did we know he could see the satellite dish moving as he pulled in the driveway
