How Much Does the Lack of Knowledge Hurt Mankind?

If I would go in detail about this, it would be another tl;dr thread by me, but in general, does the lack of knowledge, on an individual basis, hurting mankind?
People make decisions all the time, without finding out as much as possible about whatever they are making a decision on. Voting for example. How many people actually take the time to learn about each candidate? Or takes a few minutes to do some fact checking?
If you have areas that have more uneducated/lack of knowledge people in a certain area, people like this get elected into office.

Well you can look at the thousands of years of history of civilizations where we lacked the knowledge we do today to confirm your thought

Ironic that information is easier than ever to access.

There will always be complete retards in our world. Hell, most of the people you pass on the street are barely literate. Unfortunately, you see it more now because social media gives them a voice to connect with other total morons and the liberals have made sure none of them are bullied into isolation or change, both of which clean up society.
Kibble's and Gravy's Facebook pages are textbook examples of this.

This is an excellent question.
I would say an incredible amount. In general, I can pick almost any current event, and say that decision-making beliefs that are not based on knowledge cause many actions that are deadly to other people.
Wars are started this way. Hatred is fueled by this.
Lack of knowledge has an tremendous weight on the suffering of people in this world.

Lack of logical reasoning is the biggest hindrance.

its not so much as the lack of knowledge, its the excess of opinions with the lack of thought that bothers me

Your sentence structure is shite.

Everyone's situation is different, and I dont think anyone has the time or resources to exhaustively research every decision that needs to be made. So, there will always be a point at which you have to act on the information you have rather than perfect information. That's not what I see as the biggest problem.
The biggest problem, exemplified by concepts such as cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias, is how people react to the information they do have. People are hard-wired to double down on their own beliefs when facing information that contradicts them.
The interesting thing is that merely learning about these concepts helps people to overcome them and think more logically.
Until our education systems focus more on decision sciences, philosophy, and logical thinking, the problem will continue.

Robert's Rebellion was built on a lie.

Actually, I am not bitching at all. I am just wondering what the impact of decisions made, without the proper knowledge, has/had on us. With that said, will there ever be away for people to be smarter?
It's much easier today for people to become more knowledgeable than it was 30-40 years ago. Anyone who can access google can find out about whatever they want, but even then it's not always accurate or it might be difficult to figure out what is fake or real.. But what if we were all able to know something as soon as we think about it? Some type of external drive that quickly processes data to the point you can have a conversation about anything because it's all available to you in an instant. And the data is fed to your brain. It pretty much would take using AI on humans.

You should Google that.

Basically none.
Then again, there isn't much incentive to since it's basically impossible for any individual's vote to have an impact.
So the smart people stay home while the dumb ones vote and spout nonsense.
