Any idea on about how much it would cost to raise a house 4 ft. House is already on pilings about 10ft off the ground, needs to be raised 4 more feet due to new FEMA standards. About 1800sf house. Thanks in advance.

They are expensive to raise in their teenage years.

Me and my fiancé recently had this same issue. It only cost us about 10 billion dollars.

Any recommendations on who I would contact about doing this would be appreciated also.

Alimony on houses is a bitch I hear.
Unlike kids, when it gets to 18, it needs even more support.

I thought everything got grandfathered in.
I would think the new structure underneath would cost way more than the actual lifting. I doubt you can just add four feet to the pilings that are there.

I thought the feds were paying for houses to be raised? Maybe I am wrong but it seems like that was happening in southern terrebone

Well, I mean most people try not to build or buy in flood zones.

This house was still under construction during Katrina and has been sitting abandoned ever since. Trying to get an idea on how much it would cost to get it up to code to see if its worth buying and finishing.

Depends on whether federal grants funding will be used to finance job. Average lift for that size house without those funds will be 50-60k. Otherwise you're looking at about 70-80k with grant funding. It's just the way the market is set up

I have heard that in Louisiana, this one is just across the border in Bay St Louis Mississippi. I don't know if the same rules apply there. Also, since this house isn't finished and never been lived in I don't think it would qualify.

I got my house raised 2ft and leveled last year. Got three quotes. $110k, $90k, and $27k. The bigger companies wanted me out of the house for two weeks. I took the smaller bid, and never had to leave my house
Moral of the story, get multiple quotes
Eta: My house is 1250sqft and was done by Holcomb
