I've never tipped the pilot. I will tip the flight attendant a couple bucks on their last pass through the aisle.

You are probably the first person in the history of the world to tip a pilot for a commercial flight.
Congrats.
Congrats.

Could you imagine how much cash they would rake in if everyone tipped them?
Posted on 8/8/17 at 11:23 am to celltech1981
The pilot's tip is a successful rush from the landing.

Spinoff: why are airline uniforms so trashy looking? That gold braid looks glued on by a third grader

The last time I flew I thanked the pilot and handed him a 20 dollar bill on my way out.
No, no you didn't.

Don't they make far less than minimum wage since they get tips? The job isn't mindless and easy. It takes a high level of skill.

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on all of tiger droppings.

Why would I tip a pilot?
Posted on 8/8/17 at 11:41 am to celltech1981

Did I tip too little? How much do you guys normally tip?
He probably thought you were giving him a $20 so you could give him a knobber.

funny thread to make fun of exactly the mentality that some have that you have to tip everyone for everything
tipping is not a right, and its not mandatory, its a gratuity reserved for "great service" got that people?
great service, not so-so no service, not its my job service, but when you get "great" service.
somewhere along the line employers started robbing employees by not paying them fair wage because they made more in tips then wages. this was deemed "ok" by the same liberals who now think employees must be paid by those buying their meals at already exorbinate prices.
the problem isn't the amount anyone chooses to tip or even if they do not tip at all, the problem is this mentality that you must tip everyone for everything.
this is why you now get lousy service from people even when you regularly tip 20%, and you will get your food tampered with if you ask for even the smallest extra service, or darn to tip less then 20% because of poor service.
