and get halfway up from your chair to walk out of the office, never to return again?

I'd say half a dozen.

If you never do, what do you do and how can I do it? Because frick this place.

Easy, I'm not in an office. Drive around doing outside sales. The car and Starbucks are my office.

Never, now. I said that a long time ago and never looked back.

You might consider getting a different job.

Now? Never.

Love my job. I love the people I work with. Love what I do.

I never do. I don't particularly love my job (attorney), but it's a decent one, I'm reasonably good at it and I don't let it ruin my life.

If you're unhappy, make a move.

Don't sit there and be miserable.

I knew there was a reason you seemed like a son of a bitch.

You could just be happy to be alive, living another day. If you are not content, change it.

But I say frick it a lot, just not regarding my job.

I am an attorney as well. fricking hate it. Work 200+ billable hours a month, particularly at end of the year. If I could do it from 9 to 6 and go home and turn off, I'd be fine with it. Wouldn't love it, but I could deal. Maybe. It's the working until 11pm that is making me flat out hate it. When I come into the office now, I have to choke back vomit.

I think I could work this much and enjoy myself if it were something more creative, more up my alley, but the golden handcuffs are skrong.

Thankfully I don't bill at those levels these days. GF still does, and she's a lot more stressed than I am.

I work about 9-7ish and do some nights and weekends, but rarely on serious deadline. I'd prefer to stop doing litigation, but for now this is fine.

What good is all the money in the world if you can't actually enjoy it?

I mean, besides the cocaine and hookers.
