I love the core of my job. There are some derivative tasks and reporting that I dread, but I’m doing almost exactly what my college career aptitude test said I should be doing and I’m one of only a handful of people in the country that do it.
Now granted, I did the same thing at a previous company and it made me go grey and have panic attacks daily. That was a management and company culture issue.

I’m a teacher.
I’m lukewarm about it. The issues I have do not involve the kids. I like teaching the kids. What I don’t like is having admin constantly want to squeeze extra minutes out of my day for special events. Every year, some orientation for freshman is added, or there’s an event on Saturday that will be required for me. And they wonder why teachers quit at an alarming rate.
Before anyone bitches and says I get 3 months off. That isn’t true. My summer is about 4 weeks long because I am heavily involved in UIL activities.

I enjoy my career. Not so much my current job but I’m also almost done with it.

I’m grateful for my job, but I don’t love it anymore & it saddens me.

If I were financially secure with my financial dreams paid for & residual rental income on some investment property,
I would go back to coaching high school football, donate my time & not have to worry about teaching.
The teaching part & pay is what pushed me out when I coached many years ago.
But I would love to Do it again, but I’ve got some financial goals to meet before doing so.

I love my job. My work is rewarding, challenging, and keeps me busy. I work for a great company that pays me well and gives me great benefits. My coworkers and great. We are a tight knit group. And my direct reports work hard and do a good job without having to constantly watch over their shoulder.
Sure it can be stressful at times and I have a lot of responsibility. But what job doesn’t have these things. I can honestly say I love my job.
