How many of you do not live in a flood zone but still carry flood insurance?

I don't live in a flood zone and I don't have flood insurance.

Its less than $300 for me but I will be in a flood zone when maps approved. Then probably will not pay for it

I do on my rental because of its location. It's less than 300 a year.
I don't on my primary residence because there's no way it would flood.

I don't live in a flood zone and have it. I live in NW Houston so we get plenty of rain. Cost/benefit analysis easily drives that decision - it's like $350/year. IMO, not many easier household decisions. Now, if I lived in the Sahara, I'd probably save the $350 (or use it on sand storm insurance).

As far as I'm concerned, a tidal wave could come down from the clouds.
So this dude carries it, absolutely.

Not in a flood zone but I have it. I got it after watching folks in MO flood to the rooftops who were in a 500 year plain or some such shite.
Gladly pay it each year. Less than $400.

Live in a flood zone and cancelled mine last month.. $1,200, But I know for a fact this house has never flooded since built 50 years ago.
The main reason for canceling was they refused to remove my ex wife's name from the policy.

After all this shite is over, I'm seriously thinking about getting it

I don't live in a flood zone, but my mortgage company makes me maintain coverage. I would most like be insured even if they didn't.

If my house floods we've got bigger problems than flood insurance.

Do you not have a mortgage?
