I remember during the "Covid Shutdown" of 2020 - I would drive by this place every afternoon on my way home from work - even though the bar was "closed" there was a big tent set up in the back parking lot with numerious vehicles - it looked like a daily tailgate party haha

surprised you found a pic with no vehicles in the lot. Seems like no matter the time of day, there are at least a few cars there.

Fisherman's Wharf is a biker bar down that way, but 100 yards up Hwy 22 on a small bayou.

I know a guy who worked there about 10 years ago.
The regulars have a key to the door and keep up with their own tabs until the bartender goes on shift.

Went there after work around 2006 with a guy who worked for me. He wanted to grab a beer and I felt bad for him. He goes to the bathroom for a few minutes and i am the only person at the bar and notice the bartender was missing too. I walk towards the bathroom and don’t see anyone so I look out back to see if they went to smoke. He has his van sliding door open with her bent over inside it. 5pm on a week night. Anyone driving by can see. Classy parish.

we moved to the area in 2006. i walked in there one saturday and it was clear they didn't like strangers in the place. it was like one of those old westerns where a stranger walks into the saloon.

I know which one you are taking about. It’s like a shed that looks like it’s about to collapse.

Looks like Fisherman's Wharf did collapse a few weeks ago (October 21st post).

My heart breaks knowing that a place that lasted over five decades is no longer. I was personally only a part of the last decade of the memories made here. This was more than a place for me. I met lifelong friends that are like family to me here. For those who know my story I actually met a lot my biological family members here. Watched couples get married here. Monthly birthday party celebrations! I loved & miss hearing some of the stories that were told during the day when the regulars were hanging out. Many fund raisers to support the people that were cared about here. Frogging tournaments. Jug line tournaments. “Got Jugs?” Creating new drinks and of course having to try them out. Countless jello & pudding shots!!! Amazing food!! The amazingly talented bands that played. Dj’s that would keep the party going till we HAD to shut it down. Golf cart Ubering. Walking in and feeling like you were always welcome. It was a simple place. A small place. But Fisherman’s Wharf had a HUGE presence. This place contains so much history. My Grandfather opened it and my Daddy cared for it until the end. I’ve missed it. I miss everyone. Just wanted to say thank you to you all for being a part of the best time of my life. See less

Let's not be too hasty, seems like a chill spot to hang out with the baws and bawettes.

Speaking of AP bars, what is the deal with El Sitio on the Airline Hwy in Prairieville? You could go for days without seeing anyone there, and then, BOOM!...the place is packed.
