I live in South Louisiana. My fan runs the same every night of the year no matter what. Some nights I may use more covers than other nights but it never really gets cold enough long enough to worry about the direction my fricking fans are spinning in.

I will run the heater downstairs just to get the chill out of the air and if I have to run the heater upstairs where the bedrooms are, it's just to keep the kids warm. Heater or no heater, my fan runs full blast every night.

I don't have ceiling fan I have attic fan. Think it runs on 3 phase. Or maybe diesel.

We were talking about these at work the other day. Those things are great.

Can't hear yourself think when they are on, but still great.

My clockwise fan always gets the job done no matter the season.

Me too.

Only time I spin it the other direction is to get the dust off.

counterclockwise at high speed in summer to push cool air down and clockwise at low speed in winter to pull cool air up

Either you have this backwards or not every fan is the same. Mine circulates more air, drives more air down, and spins faster when set clockwise.

It doesn't spin as fast set counter-clockwise and it doesn't circulate the air. I'm assuming it's pulling air up.

I do, but I live in a cold winter and like to help keep the heat flowing evenly, which helps keep the furnace from turning on so often.

I did the exact same thing this evening. Apparently I did switch the direction in the winter.

I do. Makes a huge difference. Nice to have air circulating in the winter and not be too cold

Same. I hate being hot. I'd never want to not have air blowing on me regardless of season.

The real question is how many people actually know that you're supposed to/can change the direction with change in season?
