If you think about the randomness, chaos and luck of war you know how one false step or one unknown terrain could cause someone to die in an instant. And thinking about how many wars have been fought throughout human history, I wonder how many soldiers were killed in their first battle for some reason or another but would have went on to win 100 battles if they had survived that instance.

Or maybe I shouldn't get on the internet while I'm high.

You're not a great warrior if you get killed in your first battle

But how do we know for sure. We've never got to see someone who's died in their first battle fight again

So basically the OP is saying that of all the millions of people killed in wars over thousands of years how many would have been great if they didn't die? Dat's some heavy shite there!!

I don't like the over glorification of soldiers and all the melodrama that goes with it. However, every soldier who dies in battle was screwed out of his life and is pretty dang great. I will never sacrifice my life for the selfish gains of warmongers. I'm willing to defend my land and people but not step foot elsewhere to fight.

People always make this comment but I wonder how true it is.

You realize that it's an incredibly fortunate thing that we haven't had to actually defend an invasion since the War of 1812, right?

In other words, it's to our great advantage to defend this country somewhere else than our own backyard.

Ahhh spoken like a true ignorant person. What would've happened if we wouldn't have taken the fight to the Japanese and Germans in WWII? Not only would more soldiers have died but also your aunts, uncles, mom, dad, siblings, friends and etc. When wars are fought on your land, bombs, artillery and bullets don't just kill soldiers, they kill everyone in the area.
What about war on terrorism? Are you just going to wait to fight them on the planes or in the night clubs? While I disagree with the current strategy, this war should still be taken to the enemy and killed at the source.
