Up to 2- 5%alcohol beers per day is considered moderate drinking.
Over 4 per day is considered heavy drinking.

But will 4 beers a day kill somebody if they do it for 20+ years?
I've heard that somebody has to drink at least 6 per day over the course of 20 years to develop cirrhosis of liver.

I don't have a problem with somebody drinking as much as they want whenever they want as long as they don't drink and drive or do anything else stupid.

It depends on your size and your genetic tolerance to alcohol.

If you are a 6'4" 300 pound Irishman, you are good up to about 28 beers!

Take a look at the FBD threads on the food board. Tons of guys that drink every single day. It's pretty impressive but I kinda feel bad for some of them because they don't realize just how much they are harming their body.

I'm about 8 in plus a couple whiskey drinks. I feel pretty sober honestly.

Probably not, but everyone is different. If you have an inherited disorder of the liver such as hemochromatosis, alpha 1 anti-trypsin deficiency, Wilson's disease and others, or one of the various hepatitis's you may be screwed. Or if you combine if with Tylenol or other meds that are hepatotoxic. There is no set amount. Traditionally, one-two drinks/day for women or 2-3 for men. And no, you cannot save up and have them all on weekend. Binge drinking overloads the liver's repair mechanism and leads to damage.

Beer shouldn't be drank everyday, it's bad for you. You can get away with 2 every other day and about 6 on the weekends.

Everybody is different. My grandparents smoked a pack a day each since they were 14 and lived to be in their late 80's

I don't drink Sunday-Thursday

Friday and Sat I make up for it. I have consumed a pint and a half of fireball and working on a case of Miller Lote

Most of the time I have zero beers in a day. But sometimes I will have 10 or 20. I'm either drinking or I am not. Having 3-4 beers daily doesn't appeal to me at all.

Make sure to tell her that

I've probably averaged 8-12 beers a day for 20 years and my liver is fine.
