You can say that you like everybody in your family?

Yep. Sure can.

Except for one step-cousin that has done some stuff to piss me off, so I just didn't invite him.

It's really not that hard to not invite someone as long as you have the balls to not do it.

I like 99% of people in my wife and I's families. You don't have to like everyone for the reception to be filled with almost nothing but people you like.

WTF? Was it the reception hall that told you that because they are too cheap to include it or what?

Nah, our coordinator set up our little vendor meetings, and the cake people told us not to bother, basically.

I'm being a little dramatic, they definitely would have done one if we wanted, but it went more like my fiancee going "are people still doing grooms cakes" and the cake people going "they're kind of out of style right now" and then I went back to looking at my phone.

But every wedding I've been to in the last few years has had them. I think it's a good excuse to get chocolate cake into the reception for those who would rather that. I don't think it's a big deal one way or another, though.

Mine was the 12th hole of LSU's golf course (par 3 over water by Fred's). Every wedding I've been to in the last 6 years has had a grooms cake.

Yeah I thought so too, but whatever. I also didn't know that wedding cakes are like 6 cakes in one now, so I'm not really in the loop on cake trends

For us it wasn't worth the headache of having to deal with my MIL/FIL, bridesmaid, or any other family member over not inviting the alcoholic aunt or bridesmaid's raging douche nozzle of a bf.

They appeased me by making a couple of the tiers chocolate, basically a pat on the head

I do. And Mrs. Shifter will tell you as much. It's my job to lead the family. I'm responsible to them as head of the household. And that does not mean I just sit on my arse ordering her and the kids around. I make decisions on what is best for all of us. And since I love her and my kids, that means I put their welfare, wants, and general well being before my own.

It's her job to council and support me. I could not do what I do without her nor could she do what she does without me.

Again, it's worked to perfection for over 20 years for us. I recommend you try it.

I'm stuck with a Catholic thing. I'm just giving a guest list to her mom and naming my best woman, groomsmen. They can nerve wracking about the rest.

Quick trip to the clinic to get that thing cleaned out and you wouldn't have to have the wedding

Looking back, the cost of my first wedding was insanely stupid, only because my X-wifes's parents had to show off to all of their "political" friends (the x-FIL was a millionaire legislator).

It took me a day to plan & It took them a year.

My last wedding was in my home with one of our best friends (notary) presiding and it cost only a well stocked bar and plenty hors d'oeuvres. It took an hour to plan.

The last wedding was much better!

About a ten minute talk to the future Mrs. Fishfighter. We eloped. Two years latter we had our marriage blessed in the church. Two weeks from 38 years married.

You could just go to Vegas. Hop on a plan, get your hotel when you touchdown and go get hitched.

But one time when I was there, I saw a wedding going on inside the Bellagio. It was sort of in the middle of it all and the wedding party looked like they were just arriving. I'd say they might have had 10-12 chairs on each side the aisle and there was a trail of rose petals, which I assume led to where the bride would be coming out from.

They had a bunch of flowers, the thing that the bride and groom stand under when they get married... Whatever that is called, that was all decorated really nice.. And like I said, it was sort of in the middle of the middle of the entrance, close to the casino, and near where they have a lot of art type stuff and I was curious as to what something like that would cost or plan.. Or if you can schedule a wedding in there and have it at any part of the casino.

As a man: 2-3 Business Days
Women usually take months due to being all about useless details.

I'm blessed to be marrying a woman soon who just wants to have a huge party with friends and enjoy the moment.
