I'm not trying to be a dick, but it seems like they've been this way for a month.

I'm beginning to think it's used to often.

We lower our flags to show respect, then raise them to show our resolve and unity.

Is there a source to see the Gubernatorial or Presidential orders to have it fly at half-mast?

if they are still half mast, I think that is a little excessive. great gesture of support, but keeping them there too long waters down the whole idea of the thing...

This is my entire point. They still are where I live.

I believe it's equivalent to bowing your head in respect. I fully support that.

At some point, you need to get it together, stand tall and proud.

The incessant fawning over police officers, military members and "first responders" is disgusting.

Baby boomers feel like shite for treating returning Vietnam vets like trash. Blame the baby boomers (again).

I think the flag on the Parade Grounds was not half-mast yesterday.

I haven't seem them at half-staff at any public buildings lately. Some private buildings. They can do what they want.

also

In the United States, the correct term for non-nautical use is "half-staff." While the term "half-mast" is commonly used colloquially in place of half-staff, U.S. law and military tradition indicate that "half-mast" is reserved to usage aboard a ship, where flags are typically flown from masts, and at naval ships ashore. Elsewhere ashore, flags are flown at "half-staff." In addition, flags are lowered to half-staff, not raised.

All 5'8" I guess.

Edit:

I'm guessing you've got a bad arse medal, eh? Care to tell of the heroics that led to your badassness?

Thanks. I was unsure. Naturally, I selected the incorrect term.

Only the death of a President warrants 30 days.

The reverse is actual how a flag is placed at half-staff. Raised to the peak and then lowered out of respect.
