Why don't we make "sunrise" the start of the day and call that moment 6:15 AM?

Everyone fights about the longer day but it’s really losing that early morning light that’s bad for the crops. The sunlight before the heat of the day is what they really need. Not the extra hour of hotness at the end.

I appreciate this.

Modern humans have been waking up with the sun for the last 200,000 years. And our ancestors have been doing it for millions of years prior. Evolution has literally programmed our brains to operate at their maximum efficiency when the sunrise serves as our alarm. And recent studies have confirmed that this efficiency premium still exists even into today’s world. If you can train yourself to let the sunrise wake you up every day, it will unequivocally increase your productivity throughout the day.

That’s not a me dynamic, it’s an us. This is a fundamental population-wide reality supported by both theory and observation.

I agree and wish that I could sleep until the sun comes up during the week.
