So, I have a friend, Otto (not his real name), who lives in Texas and is sending his kid to the Manning Football Camp in Thibodeaux. He needs a place to stay the night before camp drop off and there are no rooms available in Thibodeaux. He mentioned staying in Lafayette or Baton Rouge the night before. I am not very familiar with Lafayette, so I was going to suggest staying near LSU's campus, so he can get a taste of it and maybe hit the Chimes for dinner.

Is the Lod Cook hotel decent? I have never stayed there.

What is the decent hotel in Lafayette, that would be near something "happening" area for a family?

Tanks in advance.

For family and location, you can't beat the Buchanon Lofts downtown.

Hilton Garden Inn near the university would fit the bill.

Lod Cook is nice. The drive from BR to Thib isn't bad at all.

Cook hotel is great.

Nice spacious rooms, breakfast buffet in the morning, good location.

I have stayed there numerous times and have yet to have any complaint.

Gramercy.. Sorrento will take you over the Sunshine bridge which is under construction and traffic there can be a nightmare.

That's the route I would take but I don't know about the construction issue on the SS bridge.

Very nice. The breakfast there is included in the room rate, and is really good. Also rooms should be around $99/night since its summer.
