False.

As of a year ago when I graduated, Delt was the only fraternity at Southeastern with any openly gay members, I doubt the other 7 fraternities each picked up a gay member in the last year.

ETA: Just saw your post saying that they aren't all openly gay, but it is obvious. I still doubt there is one in every fraternity, but the greek culture at Southeastern is much different.

College should be the best time of your life (I'm 38 and trust me, I know what I'm talking about!). I had a fricking blast. Try! Sorry, but if you can't make friends in college then you will have a rough time the rest of your life......(A bit harsh I know but I am just an old guy being honest with you.)

Agree with this 1000% - I know of what you speak !

man, if college is the best time of your life, shoot me now. Tetsts, homework, being broke, and watching other people get laid while I hang with myself.

Meh. College was fun, don't get me wrong, but your major plays a large role in it. Enjoying life outside of college pretty thoroughly right now.

Only a few majors apply to this. You can be successful with just about any major

I feel like I will be starting all over again. My friends look to be pretty spread out

Yeah, and there's always outliers as well. Some people can do well in difficult majors while still partying hard. But the majority won't. I lost my scholarship after my sophomore year and had to tighten up.

As for the OP, I made a handful good friends (mostly people I had class with) that I still know today. The rest were just acquaintances. Don't care for a big circle.

Tell him to stay away from the OT, these people don't have friends.

I am not particularly social or outgoing, and I made friends pretty easy...just gotta relax and be yourself and like-minded folks seem to find one another...

honestly, the toughest thing at LSU is not making friends...it is making friends that will not cause you to fail out after two semesters...

I made zero friends at college. The only people I still talk to I knew beforehand.

Tough to form lasting relationships when the majority of one's time is spent online. Wouldn't do it any differently though. Always been a bit of a loner.

Just found out he'll be staying in Evangeline. He is worried about getting a shitty roommate! I think he will make a lot of friends there

Join some organizations and get actively involved in them. If he's going to be working while in school, suggest a place where he'll work with like-minded individuals. Intramural sports are great. There's a ton of things and avenues to meet people of all varieties.

When I got to college, I ended up becoming very close with a group of girls I have known since I was 4 that I was never close with before.

I don't really speak to people in classes other than my major field here my last year. I love the people in my field.
