I'd like for Florida Georgia Line to pull off another country theme: double homicide.

Jason Aldean's big country radio hit Dirt Road:
quote:

Yeah I'm chillin' on a dirt road Laid back swervin' like I'm George Jones Smoke rollin' out the window An ice cold beer sittin' in the console Memory lane up in the headlights It's got me reminiscing on them good times I'm turnin' off a real life drive and that's right I'm hittin' easy street on mud tires Let's ride

I'm sensing a recurring theme.

And if they did, it would sound magical. I doubt we'll see talent like that again for several lifetimes.

Who can forget the deep subjects explored with such stirring prose by Florida Georgia Line in their moving opus "You Make Me Wanna Roll My Windows Down":
quote:

Yeah, when I first saw that bikini top on her She’s poppin’ right out of the South Georgia water Thought, "Oh, good lord, she had them long tanned legs!" Couldn’t help myself so I walked up and said Baby you a song You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise Down a back road blowin’ stop signs through the middle Every little farm town with you In this brand new Chevy with a lift kit Would look a hell of a lot better with you up in it So baby you a song You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise She was sippin’ on Southern and singin’ Marshall Tucker We were falling in love in the sweet heart of summer She hopped right up into the cab of my truck and said, "Fire it up, let’s go get this thing stuck."

Sturgill Simpson is pretty fricking awesome. Most of the stuff you hear on the radio is uninteresting, bland, and repetitive so that it can appeal to a mass audience though. I guess it fits the people who don't really care.

It doesn't make my speakers go boom boom.
It's not my kind of party.
