Not trying to be funny, honestly want to know what becoming an officer of the law entails. Is there a certain degree you have to have or is it just High school diploma/GED. I know you have to get accepted into the academy and graduate from it. Cops of the OT, help me out. Thinking about a career change.

each department has different standards, go look at the website of the department you want to work at.

Unfortunately, your prior felony conviction probably wouldn't preclude you from employment in the Jackson Police Department.

Are you prepared to draw your weapon correctly and not sideways? Think about it...

First step: flunk out of high school.

If you actually went to college: intentionally answer questionnaire as moron.

No shite. They weed out "intelligent, over-qualified" applicants.

People don't become cops, they're born cops.

Runners vs. chasers. Some day there will be research to figure out who has a chance and who does not.

probably just google whatever department you want to join and find out the specifics to get acceptance into their academy.

I was thinking the same thing! He REALLY needs to pick a career and stick with it. He was recently saying how his oil field job was ready to promote him to management, and in previous threads he talked about how much cash he was making, so I have no clue why he wouldn't stick it out.
