I met a failed mayoral candidate the other day and he said that Gary was a paid lobbyist for certain companies. That hospital that wanted to build in North Baton Rouge supposedly had given him a good chunk of change for his efforts.

Why would anyone WANT to build a hospital that may see one paying patient a year if they're lucky? The gubment doesn't reimburse for shite.

I don't know shite about how charity hospitals get funded, but I doubt they would want to do it unless it was profitable in some way.
But supposedly he gets lobbying money from these companies he's trying to get tax breaks for in North Baton Rouge.

This is a good question, I am curious as well.
I assumed he had a regular job and was just "involved" in the community, but then after Alton Sterlings fat arse died and the shooting of the police officers, he was more active during the day.. Like that time Loretta Lynch came to Baton Rouge and he was doing a live video while driving and talking about how "he just had a meeting with Loretta Lynch".. As if he was important enough to have a meeting scheduled with her.. But in reality, it was a "town hall meeting" in which she met with people from the community.
