How do you deal with a guilty conscience?

I used to tell people I had no sympathy.... And I was being honest. In my younger days I didn't care how any of my actions made others feel.
Lately (last 6 months or so) I've found myself bothered much more by regrets.... Self-condemnation really. I feel like I know better in most of the instances and really feel bad about messing up anyways, kind of like I should know better.
On a spiritual level, I feel like I'm so guilty at times. I'm worried that I'm abusing grace.... Like if I ask forgiveness for something but still keep doing it....I know my flesh is weak, and if you don't know me, I promise it's weak.
It's hard for me to ask forgiveness for the same thing over and over because I feel stupid as if I should know better, which I should.
Help me OT, how do you work out re-occurring faults like I have?

it sounds like you're a child of God like the rest of us. I keep doing the same stupid stuff i shouldn't be doing.

If it's something you wouldn't like somebody doing to you, maybe that should tell you something.
Also, perhaps it's time you level with the kids and explain why the dog doesn't walk right.

I pray sincerely but I keep falling in the same stupid traps over and over. It almost makes me feel worse, ya know? I should recognize the same stupid pitfalls by now.

I always know that Jesus will forgive me but some times I feel like I don't deserve that forgiveness. So to fill the gap I cut myself a lot. It helps with the guilty conscience and helps me welcome the Lord's forgiveness with open arms.

I truly believe that one day you'll be in a position to guide others fwiw. I believe so hard for others.... I wish it transferred to myself.

Lack of funds is not my problem. Unfortunately I don't think that would help me.

You think I'm a troll? I most certain am not!

Just trying to save souls bro. If you don't believe in the power of prayer and self mutilation then that's on you. I hope the Lord's love finds you, but until then don't mock those of us who have found him

You'll probably never believe me but I promise you your cynicism reminds me of me 15 years ago

Meh...it's not really that funny. I'm not suicidal but I know real lives deal with that daily and it's not something we should mock, agreed?

Yeah I used to be a cynic too until the good Lord delivered me an iPad Air 2 last Christmas after much prayer.
