So I have dropped twenty pounds in the past two months and I'm starting to tone up all over. I've cut carbs to around 50 a day which is a big step for me.

I am doing planks every day and I can feel my abs getting harder underneath but there is a layer of fat on top. How do I start getting rid of that or tone it up? Will it just take time and lose of more weight?

I was 210 and am now down to 185 to 187 depending on how much water I drink. My goal is to down to 170 to 175. Btw I'm short (5'6) so that 170 still looks good.

You can't spot lose fat from a certain area. It's just disappears over your entire body. Meaning yea you have to continue to drop your overall levels.

Not if I'm prediabetic. My diet is different than most and is from a dietician. I had to cut weight quick to drop sugar levels.

Spot reduction doesn't exist. If your body chooses to lose that section of fat last you can't change it.

You can't target fat loss in a specific part of your body. You just need to lose more weight

That's what I thought. Thanks. I'll just continue my diet and my daily exercises.

The lowering of carbs will help you with eating less calories but it's not the Skelton key to achieving fat loss.

You're stomach will become more firm with a reduction of bf% as it is impossible to "spot fat loss".

Congrats on the fat loss, keep at it...remember everyone underestimates how much weight they need to lose before seeing abs, you'll get there in consistent time.

I am super happy though. I went from a forty waist to a 35 waist. I haven't felt this good in 20 years. I have been a very fat frick.

So I eat 1500 calories a day with only between 50 and 100 carbs daily but healthy carbs. I cut out all sweets, dairy, wheat, breads, and do a low fat no sugar shake for breakfast and then two of those as snacks. I eat healthy lunches and dinners.

I then do 30 minutes of cardio a day burning around 230 calories then about an hour of weight lifting afterwards. I do this 5 to 6 times a week with one or two rest days. Plenty of water.

you can't pinpoint where you lose fat on your body, but you can pinpoint where you add muscle.

start eating less than you're burning, that fat will eventually go away. it won't happen in weeks, maybe months, but in due time, young padawan

If you're losing around 1lb a week consistently keep at it honestly, it just takes patience and consistency. You seem to be on the right path. Congrats again
