How did your dog get its name and do you wish you'd gone with a different name now?

We have a black labradoodle we named Cocoa because a) it fit and b) it’s a name she can recognize easily.

Had a dog named cora. Just seemed to fit. Got hit by a car last week and was devastated. Came here for support had a lot of responses for prayers. Thank you very much. It helped so much.

We got our dog on January 7,2008. We named him Champ because that was the day LSU beat Ohio St. for the national championship.

Old boy just had his 14th birthday anniversary last week and is still kicking. He is a hound/boxer mix and is mostly deaf with cataracts, but we still walk 1.5 miles every day.

All the pets we’ve had have been named after Disney characters. We had a Copper too.

When we got A German Shepard, he was my dog. My kids picked Vader and I didn’t oppose it. When he died suddenly (poisoning was suspected, but LSU’s necropsy couldn’t figure out what it was), I got another German Shepard (bitch this time). I googled German female names. I rescued another German Shepard (male) about 6 months later. Again, I googled for a German name.

Romie and Fritz (sometimes Fritzy)

I have a Dachshund named Bort. I named him that because I’m waiting for the day someone will say their dog is also named Bort.

And yes, his name tag is a personalized license plate.
