I'm sitting at an airport now and was eating breakfast about an hour ago. There were at least 4-5 people with either beers or wine at 7:15 am. Think these are people that just got off some red eye flight or do people really drink that kind of booze with their pancakes? i probably travel by air 4-5 times per year and can't recall seeing much of this on prior flights.

Edit: I know that things are different at the airport- seeing this just made me wonder if people do this at home too?

Airport is a place famous for that. Depending on where you are it could be travelers from other areas. If it is a place like BTR then who the f knows

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning...Probably just taking the edge off if the are nervous about flying?

I see dudes at circle K buying tall boys at 7:30 am all the time. They appear dressed for work, too.

I've worked shift work before so times of day really had no bearing.

I'm suprised they serve alcohol that early in the airport.

You can't judge peoples drinking habits at an airport. Airport drinking is way different than non airport drinking.

If I'm at an airport at the buttcrack of dawn you better believe I'm gonna be drinking.

Haha nah. I would trade with you though. Detroit airport > philly airport

Guess this kinda answers my question. Still curious if these people bust out the wine at home when they wake up?

I do shift work, and I used to drink in the morning after a night shift. A group of us used to go to Louies and have a waffle and pound a few longnecks once a month.

Yeah the rules of drinking are different at the airport. Either to calm nerves if you're afraid of flying, on vacation so screw it, traveling for work so you aren't paying for it so screw it. They're all valid reasons.

I will be at a bar if I have more than 10 minutes to spare while at an airport

I see this a lot in the mornings too, but I always assume they are getting off of work. On a totally different schedule.

I thought it was understood that you cannot be judged for drinking at an airport, no matter what time of day it is

Flying often means vacation or ending of a business trip. In both occasions, drinking at 7 am is more than acceptable.
