From 1920-1933(ish) alcohol was illegal as well as the fact that the economy went to crap at the end. Modern medicine wasn't what it is now. The great depression was starting. People were living in beyond harsh conditions. Jobs were hard to come by. People didn't have the sort of entertainment and luxury of traveling like we do now. And did I mention there was no legal alcohol?

What did people do in their free time? Play jacks and marbles all day? Gamble on cards while sober?

What do you think life was like back then?

Not a great time to be a snowflake or part of the grievance community.

There were many hard times in history.
To hear people bitch so much about this period we live in just cracks me up. And I'm not talking about just the lazy fckers who expect handouts and demand things.

My aunt tells me the other day something about religion and how much we need it now more than ever because of the evil in the world and the bad things happening. I asked is it really worse now than in WWI or WWII, etc.
We live in a pretty good time

There is a far more irrational prohibition on pot right now.

not saying it wasnt hard. But it wasnt like you could walk into a bar and drink. By technicality you could if you walked into the right place, but thats just a pain in the arse to deal with hiding it.

Well I would have respectfully told her to shutup. Nothing is worse than being in the U-boats driving up to Normandy, but that doesn't mean you cant talk about other shitty times.

What was Brad Pitts character snorting in Inglorious Bastards?

I feel like there were a lot of substances that were still under the radar during that time that people indulged in in lieu or in addition to alcohol.

imagine a snowflake complaining about whats not fair back in 1930. You could make a comedy about it.
