How ambitious are you ? And is it a blessing or a curse?

1 being you just don't care, life-time slacker. Content just being you at this moment on Planet Earth.
10 being you are driven to succeed at every thing you do, 100% of the time and are willing to pay any price to attain your goal.
Do you view your approach as a blessing or a curse?
How important are material goods and income to you?
What do you think of people who have the opposite perspective?

I fluctuate between 7 and 9. I'm ambitious enough that I went to grad school, but also enjoy a work/life balance enough that I just took a remote job, rather than attempting to climb the ladder at my current workplace.
Income is important, but I won't sacrifice my free time and lifestyle due to it. I could double my pay, but it would require being away from home 4-5 days a week.
I don't understand people who are not ambitious. I graduated from undergrad with many people who said "this is the last class I'll ever have to take!", the semester before graduation, which is super shortsighted, IMO. I see people on social media who lust after big homes, trips, and luxury items, but fail to realize that those things are earned, not given.

I'm lazy but lucky. I've never had to apply for a job in my life. Everything I've done, someone else has approached me first.

About 3 I guess. i'm not very ambitious when it comes to school.
I put in very little effort and get Bs with a few As every semester.

I don't share this kind of information with a pimp.
Get an honest job and we'll talk.

I think 8-9 on ambitious/ driven scale.
I wish I could just relax, but I get in a bad mood if I'm not doing something to keep me engaged/ leaning/ experiencing life. Mine isn't all work related so that's good, but I just can't do "nothing" for very long.
Edit: it was benefical while younger, but at 47, I'm starting to not like it.

Depends on the day of the week. If it's Monday-Thursday, I'm pretty ambitious trying to get all my shite done. Friday-Sunday, I'm coasting.
That's all gonna change though in a week or two when I finally get my arse back in school after an extended absence.

8. Pretty focused and driven, and I've made huge investments from a monetary and time perspective in myself and my future.
7. I enjoy nice things and I desire to attain the income levels necessary to support buying those things.
As long as they're happy. But don't lecture me. I have a friend who continually questions why I continue to pay for classes and spend the time to take them so I can get eligible for the CPA. He believes as long as he does a good job it's enough. He believes in clocking his 40 and not worrying about work after that. I don't agree with it, but it only aggravates me when he tries to lecture me about it.

Somewhere between a 6 and a 9. When I find a new project that interests me I beat it into the dirt before I let up. Once that's over I usually back off for a bit.

I used to be a 7, now I am maybe a 5 for most things. I care about the stuff I want to do, and do other things just to do those things. Generally if I am going to do something I do it at 110%, but am pretty selective on what I do.
I think I might be better served with more ambition. But I am set to retire at 45, so its not like a fricking slacker.
Not particularly important.
I have issues with 1s and 10s. They are both annoying. 1s are particularly annoying, especially if they have the promise for bigger things.

That probably says more about your school and degree program than you.

I'm a 9 at work and my hobbies. At home ,as in chores and shite, around a -3.
I try to excel at everything I do at work especially. I'm very competitive, to the point where I have to remind myself that life isn't a competition sometimes. That's what I keep my SO around for.
She'll pop my bubble real fricking quick. Thats why I love her

About an 8. I live by "if you're not growing you're dying" so I'm always trying to improve. Not money driven but that's a side effect of always trying to get better / win.
I used to look down on people with different perspectives but part of my self growth is developing an understanding of how others are. I don't impose or judge them based on my value system as long as they're honest and not a criminal.

I guess that I'm about a 6.5 and view it as a blessing as I wouldn't want to be at either extreme.
I mostly slacked through high school and college and sort of got lucky that I was able to obtain my CPA license about a year after finishing at LSU.
For the past 15 years, I've had a slightly above average job for my education/experience that has prevented me from being more ambitious (career-wise).
For some people, being a slacker early in life leads to minimal prospects which then lights a fire into being very ambitious in their 20s/30s.

When it's something I'm passionate about, I'm relentless. I'll know whether it's ultimately been a curse within the next few months.

I have zero ambition but I wouldn't call it being a slacker. I'm just a simple man who enjoys simple things.
