Get my debit card information and charge me? I went thru the EZ tag lane because I didn't have cash and they simply send the pic of you going thru and the toll amount to your house via mail. I've done it that way before and paid them back no problem with a money order. This time somehow, they were able to snatch my debit card information and charge 50.00 dollars. I shouldn't have any card on file with the state of Texas and even if I did, this debit card is brand new, received it as a replacement last month. The card doesn't have that easy pay chip either, and none of the other roads I took like hardy toll road or the Sam Houston parkway charged my card like this. What in the frick happened? How is the Katy freeway toll snatching debit card info out of thin air. It's pretty scary to think how easy it is for someone to get access to your money via cards.

It's crazy, but sounds like they didn't do anything wrong since you did violate the toll. You must have had multiple incidents as I have a tag and was incorrectly ticketed before. The girl told me they do not send out an invoice until you have like 3 incidents built up against you. If you did it once, they won't charge you until you get a few more. You sure you never paid anything with that account?

Similar thing used to happen at LSU. My truck was registered under my parents. Nothing on the paperwork traced it back to me. I never "registered" that truck with LSU. But somehow if I got a ticket, it went on my fee bill. What if the truck belonged to my siblings who didn't even attend LSU.

nope. And even then it's a brand new debit card that I got a month ago.

What happened is you didn't plan ahead and bring cash knowing you'd be driving on a toll road.

Don't take a toll way when you don't have the means to pay for it. Just get a tag, it's quiet easy.

Sometimes the bank allows the old account numbers to draft payments from the account.

I was on a waiting list for a monthly subscription box for Ipsy (makeup/beauty stuff). It took months to get off their BS waiting list and lost interest. I switched debit card numbers so ignored the 10 emails about updating my account information before my first shipment was supposed to be sent out. They eventually managed to charged my account.

They are probably used to kids driving their parent's cars and linked it by home address. I borrowed my bf's mother's car back in the day and bf got my parking ticket on his fee bill.

You either have an EZ Tag or a TEXAS Tag. They are just refilling your account.
