it is clear though this event you had some extreme anger towards the possibility of Houston handling a major storm better than Nola.

Please show me where I made that clear. I'll wait.

Through your defensive language

Honestly, the truth is too, Houston could def host the game Saturday. 100% moving it made sense, but the roadways in the city and stadium would be able to host without issue

Except for the fact that I-10 is still closed so would have made it tough for fans from La to get to the game and I'm sure the hotels are all jammed up.

Dry. We didn't get hardly anything yesterday and the water had time to drain because of it. All the breaks we had throughout this saved a lot of houses here.

I went to Neighborhood WalMart in Cinco Ranch to make some groceries

All they had in the meat cases was three packs of chicken feet. I wanted to take a picture but the worn out manager was standing there and I didn't want to be a jackass. fricking chicken feet! Lots of Asians here but damn WTF do you do with a pack of chicken feet?

The package was labeled "cut chicken paws"
I can't make this shite up

Trump may be here Saturday. If that's the case they'll shut down the whole city like they did when Cheney came here for Boustany years ago. Could use that as an excuse.

ETA: Missed where you said Sunday

Those flooded

That won't end up mattering as much as you may think. Some people won't want a flooded house, but most are going to look at it as a once in a lifetime type event and opt for one with a brand new Joanna Gaines style makeover.

Many things are going on all around this area that are outside of the city of Houston or Harris County where the city is located.

I will say that up to this point, things have been handled pretty well with the exception of the office of emergency management here where I live, which caused a mass panic last night for no reason.

I have been vey active with many things. I'm balancing business, home, friends, and community. I'm getting only a few hours of sleep and feel like I have so much energy and being exhausted at the same time.

I could tell many stories of people doing incredible things. What has happened in the southeast Texas has been incredible. Making comparisons to other disasters is a hard thing to do because every situation is different. In this situation people have come together as human beings and nothing else mattered.

Guess I could have made a roux and stewed them but the claws would be tough to deal with

Went around the corner to harvest market and they had produce, nobody else has produce right now

Also bought some halal boneless chicken breasts
Each pack of two breasts was $1.99 each
Go around the corner to the regular meat case and the same packages with the same dates but not labeled Halal was $3.49 each
Diversity!

And it's not limited to Houston and SETX folks. No less than half a dozen of my colleagues have totally cleared my work plate so I can deal with personal and community stuff down here. They live in Tampa, Chicago, NC, Dallas, etc. My HR manager said don't take PTO, just do what I need to do.

It fills the heart for sure.
