House shoes for winter weather?

I just moved to the Midwest and this is my first real winter. I've been looking for some house shoes. Specifically some that are at least water resistant that I can take my dog out in the snow. By "take my dog out" I mean walk outside and stand on the deck while he runs around. I saw a few pair of Uggs, but I did not really know where else to look. Do any of you have any personal recommendations?

Find a local store and get some that you like, that are comfortable and keep you warm?

I read this as "Horse shoes for winter weather".
It makes a bit more sense upon further review. I always take off my shoes when I enter my own house, no matter the season. So there is (almost) always a pair of deck shoes available near an outside door for me now for what you are talking about.

Why not just turn on your radiant floor heading?

Not even close to OT Baller status enough to have this. Gotta keep working to get there. I checked out LL Bean and saw the chukkas, but that looked like the only ones that were what I'm looking for, and I'll probably just end up getting the uggs

Fwiw, I have some uggs and they're nice. I actually took my dog on a bike ride with them on my feet. Probably not able to rock them in snow though. The ones I've got anyway.

Uggs. I'm on my second pair. I never wore house shoes in my life but my wife bought me a pair about 5 years ago and now I'm hooked. I'll wear them on quick trips to the store.

I'm going to do radiant floor heating when I build, granted my house will be under 1500 sq/ft, so I'll be able to swing the extras. It's about $6 sq/ft extra for electric.

I would recommend you just go to the LL Bean site and browse...there are loads of different styles that would work...

I'll be up north with long, very cold winters. It actually lowers heating costs and keeps the house more comfortable. It makes sense for me, but I agree, in the south, it'd only be a comfort thing and not cost beneficial.

Radiant heating is certainly the most efficient way to warm a house in a northern climate. My BIL, a master plumber, installed this in his home in western NY and it is awesome. So nice to jump into bed a night and have the bed warm from the radiant heat. He, of course installed everything, and if you saw his boiler room in the basement, it looks like something that would be on a nuclear sub.
Definitely expensive if you are not a plumber.
I wouldn't go with the electric radiant heat though.

Yeah, electric definitely isn't anywhere near as efficient, but I'm not sure the costs of a boiler system. I suppose I could research it a little more and tie in radiator heaters to the floor system. AC in Alaska isn't needed, so that's a savings benefit. I'm mainly looking at options I can install myself. I'll look into it. Maybe I'd be capable of running the floor piping and setting the boiler, then just have a plumber come in for inspection and system hookup.
