Should I throw away the clothes too or will a good washing be sufficient? They don't have a moldy odor to them.

Would you throw away your clothes if they got toilet water on them?

Save them before the mildew gets to them

Even if they got wet, why throw them away? They get wet when you wash them

No, they will clean just fine. Sorry to hear that, man. Damn shame what has happened to the people of our fine state.

Is this a shitty troll thread? It feels like one.

I came out better than most of my family. My home was relatively high. Around 5' higher than both my neighbors and neither of them had ever flooded in the 40 years they've been here.
Wish this didn't happen. It's just terrible. I'm 44 and have never been through anything like this. I helped with Katrina but this is different. Not worse. Just different.

I barely have time to do anything other than deal with this flood. It's been hard to think straight. Only Internet time is during breathers. I normally troll hard but this is not a fun time.
My old man is 70 and he lost everything he worked for.

They didn't get toilet water on them but it's been in a room with toilet water which makes me uneasy.

As long as you don't see noticeable mildew growth, at worst you'll just need to add distilled vinegar to your wash cycle to kill any odor. It sounds like you probably don't need to even do that.

They will be fine...just try not to let them stay in a room with water long term if you can help it or they may mildew without touching the water.
sorry to hear about your pops' loss, man...that kind of thing is just heartbreaking to me.

Add a few cups of distilled vinegar if you are worried about it. The washing and drying cycle will kill, remove, and desicate most microbes. You can also line dry your clothes in the sun.

I hope so. That'll be a money saver.
