The Brits are quietly gravitating towards a generic, all encompassing accent without class distinctions. A mix of north and south, high and low.
It's an entirely social, grass roots phenomenon as far as I can see.

Southern accent grates my nerves.
I prefer girls with no accents. My wife doesn't even have a hint of an accent. As far as accents that I like on a girl though.
