Meh. If it was Crocs, then there might be a story. Gators are usually skiddish.

I worked near an airport in CA for about 3 weeks and watched those balloons land in all sorts of precarious locations.

I'll never step foot in one of those things.

Who opens up a hot air balloon place next to a gator farm?

I've been in water that was infested with gators many times while hunting. I am 99% certain that the gators vacated the area as soon as the balloon basket got near. Unless it landed near or on a nest, the gators are getting away.

The risk/reward ratio for hot air balloons seems incredibly unattractive.

2 alligators is a far cry from the number they're inferring are present.

I'd try to dig up a photo of the basket almost clipping our drilling mast on their way to a dangerous landing in an industrial area, but I'm feeling lazy.

never understood why people think its a good idea to suspend yourself under a big arse balloon and throw fire at the bottom of it.

what could go wrong?

Tell you what, you dive into a pond of gators and get back with me. If one alligator is a 14 foot male, you're hide is cooked.

Gators are famous for their poor traction.

Exactly what I thought. Didn't something happen like that on Faces of Death? Haven't seen that movie since I was like 7 or 8.

The headline makes it sound like they landed in the main gator pit at Gatorland Zoo.
