Im heading there in June thinkjng the standard two story rooftop thinking about upgrading to the excellence club but didnt know if it was worth yhe money....also are there any excursions you recommend? Thanks for all the help

I've been to Isla Mujeres several times. Wife's uncle is building a place there.

Excellence club worth money. You get access to better liquor in room. Beds on the beach with wait staff. My favorite part was the excellence club lounge. It's where you have your private check in, can eat breakfast without having to go to a restaurant and deal with people, private check in, full bar,Internet access, and you can arrange exursions there with a coincierge.
However, we didn't do any excursions. Just relaxed, ate, drank, banged, read books, banged, swam, laid out.
You can make friends if you want but we were loners and it was great. Especially after the wedding.

2 story with rooftop pool, shower, bed. Also has jacuzzi tub in the room and on main floor balcony. I strongly recommend.

This thread is reassuring. We just booked our honeymoon here. We aren't OT rich yet, so we had to get the basic room. I may upgrade to the swim-up room reading the advice here.

Yeah we figured why not upgrade. It's our honeymoon. Also, take advantage of the 24 hr room service. And when you run out of anything in fridge, they'll fill it back up. Theres a lot to do we just chose not to do it. More of a relaxing experience.
Also, get the private transportation to and from airport. I think it was$100. They are waiting for you in a nice suburban with water and cold towels. Don't have to deal with taxis.its great.

Yeah, guess the only thing I was thinking about was do I want to spend the money, when during the day we will be out on the beaches doing excursions and having fun. I def wanted the two story room for the secs...yes we are going to do the transportation from the airport for sure! The resort seems really great esp. for the price!

The zip line excursions are awesome. I also recommend diving.

I'm not a huge golfer but I wouldn't waste my time golfing on a short trip. Plenty things you can do in Mexico that you can't do here. You can golf anytime.

True, me and my old lady love to play though that would be a morning thing most likely. Any cool tours to go on, like ruins etc.

get a bottom room floor with the swim up pool. When your wet and drunk going around to your room in an elevator or stairs sucks. Also when you come from the beach you can just jump in pool then hit your room 5 feet from the pool. you will also have some lounge chairs right out your class door by the pool and the bar is right across the pool.
the bump to excellence club is worth it for the better booze. Grey Goose, etc.
also get in on the wine tasting.

our second time there the wife got hammered on mudslides and I took her inside to sleep it off. As she was snoozing in bed I had two chics skinny dip in the pool right outside our room. They never seen me.

This makes sense, just fell in love with the two story rooftop. Do they do free upgrades there if you ask. One of the reviews i read said that they do offer them just wondering

I'm sure the swim up rooms are cool. We just felt more alone with the 2 story rooms. You can have the sex on the top floor during the day while admiring the views and no one can see or hear. Also did it a lot at night on roof. Badass.
There is also 2 different porn channels. Found out by walking down the corridor to our room and I could see in a window from afar and saw this girl getting plowed and thought, very interesting.

Exactly...interesting on the porn as well. You stayed in the two room Excellence club correct? Seems like the best bet, not a complete OT Baller but getting there so may drop the 5k
