Has anyone been following this or familiar with the story? Below is a quick summary from Wikipedia but I suggest reading the entire wiki page to get all the details LINK

quote:

Holly Lynn Bobo (October 12, 1990 – c. April 13, 2011) was an American woman who disappeared on April 13, 2011 from her family home in Darden, Tennessee. She was last seen alive by her brother shortly before 8 a.m. walking into the woods outside her home with a man wearing camouflage. In September 2014, her remains were found in northern Decatur County, Tennessee, and her death was ruled a homicide. According to prosecutors, an indentation found on her skull is consistent with that of a bullet wound

Once you've read about the case, here is a link to someone on Reddit giving detailed summaries from each day at trial LINK

The whole thing seems eerily similar to the making a murderer case

Defendants are huge white trash meth heads but the case against them appears iffy at best while the prosecution seems shady as frick. Even looks like they've got their own Brendan Dassey who they got a "confession" out of

Pics of Holly before she died? They'll help me decide how much I should care.

It dominates the news in Nashville.

They arrested the guys a while back, but didn't release the evidence they had on them or explain why it took so long to make an arrest. The trial has been slowly revealing that stuff.

Pretty bad case against them tbh. The ex girlfriend of one of them is the star witness and she just saw scratches on his neck and claims he said he'd tie her up like Holly Bobo. Essentially zero physical evidence at all.

If they get a conviction it is because they couldn't find an impartial jury IMO. Really bad case.

Her autistic brother saw her being pulled into the woods by someone in camouflage I believe and called her mom to tell her. Then the mom said call 911, but it was too late.

I think so?

They should not get a conviction, but they might because the area of the state is furious over this blonde headed girl getting murdered. I have my doubts on the impartiality of the jury pool. And these accused guys are scumbags nobody cares about.

Something like that...or asbergers or something. He is not completely right in the head and he panicked and called his mom instead of calling police when he saw his sister basically get abducted.

I might be rusty on the details.

Today a guy took the stand and said he helped the defendant dispose of the body.

Is he the one with an IQ in the 60s/70s? I know one of the guys purportedly involved is slower in the head than most German Shepherds.

Is this saying a bullet bounced off her head or am I reading that wrong?

They've got a witness they gave immunity to. How would that not get a conviction? The murderer bragged about it.

He'll be convicted. I'm certain of it. But the appeals will be many and messy

I'm pretty sure the guy is mentally retarded basically and the "confession" and story he told could be argued were fed to him.

Look, I think these guys did it. But I don't think they have enough to lawfully convict IMO.

One of the guys who testified was a sheriff and his evidence these guys did it was "I went to their house and it just didn't feel right. Felt like they had done something bad."

Not kidding.

Not a question of if this guy will be convicted. The only question is how long will he be on death row.
