justifiable cause
Paid for a hunt. Seems justifiable enough. His guides were definitely at fault and perhaps him too if he knew. Definitely should be punished...

Generally the regulated hunting of exotics isn't objectively wrong, although it may offend some people. In this particular case, it was wrong. This was not an animal legally allowed to be hunted and killed, and they knew that.
Conversely, I see why some people are fed up with this guy being crucified by the court of public opinion.

I guess innocent until proven guilty doesn't exist. So quick to get offended people are.
The dude is a piece of shite who has done it before with a black bear, he should be punished. But that punishment should fit the crime.

No, it's not the end of the world for you, but it is for other sentient creatures because some asswipe dentist wanted a trophy.
My empathy extends to most sentient creatures. Might be arbitrary, but I don't care.
As for his public punishment... Welcome to the Information Age.

Most definitely but I am not faulting you for it.

Doesn't make it right... Just like the killing of that lion...

You can infer from the facts that at least the guides knew this. You said that yourself in another post, not sure why you're taking issue with it.

I am all about this thread. Social media and the internet in general can get scary at times. People can be psycho behind a keyboard.

Why not? His business is built upon the public. People who deal with him should know what kind of a person he is. Isn't that the best part about free enterprise is that we do not have to deal with people like this if we choose not to do so?

Not taking any issues with it. The guides for sure knew... They should be punished in their country however the judicial system works. As for the dentist we can assume but we don't know and he should be innocent till proven otherwise. Still think he is a POS but thats where my give a shite ends

he might be a great dentist. People might feel uncomfortable going to him because they will get shamed too. People that are offended don't need to go but why shame others from going who dgaf and only want their dental work done

We don't know how he is professionally actually, unless you have seen him personally.
Anyne can choose to not go to someone because their perceptions. Is it the publics job to shame other people to not go to him?

As a white, privileged male I hate these "big game hunters" it's not a sport to pay tons of money to drive out and shoot an animal that you won't eat or are overpopulated.
I understand everyone's point but I just don't think we should kill animals like that for sport. Just my two cents

I'm in the same boat as you. I draw a very fine line on hunting these animals, if it's necessary to kill one for the sake of the species, then I'm all for it. But how can someone make that distinction, especially when there are over 600 lions alone hunted a year? I just don't like the idea of hunting a species that's on the edge of endangerment.
I also don't see the sport in taking a 50 cal to an elephant. But what do I know

This bald headed dentist Nick Rauber could not disagree with you more.

Advocate today mentions a doctor on the East coast who illegally shot a lion in Africa with bow and arrow. This one is a gynecological oncologist (lot of $ to be made in cancer). Maybe they are friends!

i just want to know who knew this lion even existed before this happened.
and its even more funny how the Zimbabwe ( however you spell it) people and government didn't know who everyone was talking about when they were asked about "cecil"
it deflections from the media. They don't want to cover the planed parenthood story and iran nuke deal.

You think the american media has that much influence over twitter as an international communication tool?
