If true, this is a pretty badass story. The kid starts in penny stocks as a 9 y/o, and 8 years later has a net worth in the high eight figures. How many OTers have actually managed to accumulate that much wealth in less than a decade?

This isn't true. NO frickING WAY. I'm calling this as made up bullshite that somehow hit the news.
ETA: He can't legally even have a brokerage account. If he had his parents somehow get him one, he has to get every trade approved by them. And on top of the massive numbers I'm calling BS. No way this kid did this from a phone on his lunch break at high school.

There was probably some confusion as to dollars to coconuts or whatever currency they use where his family comes from. Probably only comes out to a few hundred Murican dollars.
