Did anyone do this? Any stories of making it work?

Yep. Hung out with a bunch of college-aged people, and it made me realize I didn't want to go to college with that relationship.

I used to work with a girl who was still with her HS boyfriend. I saw on FB yesterday that they're still together and she graduates from LSU next month.

I've seen it turn out different ways.
My wife and I were high school sweethearts and went to college 2 hours apart, and found a way to make it work - because we wanted to. We dated for 4 years and ended up getting married while still in college. We've been married 7 years now.
I've got a good friend who he and his girlfriend broke up as they entered college in separate towns, but ended up back together and married after they both graduated and had been engaged to different people.

One of my childhood friends(she is 36 now) met her bf when we were in 8th grade. They have been married since she was like 18-19 and have 2 kids. Very happily married couple and stable family.

Well they are at the same college. So I doubt it
Also kinda on the "goody goody" side.

Buddy of mine and his wife started dating in HS, went to different in-state colleges and have been married ~4 years with 2 kids

My high school girlfriend waited until my mom got her into Chi O. Then I was toast. Worked out for me though, got a few bj's from her friend over the next couple of weeks.

Damn, very inspiring. Right now I don't think she would go all out and be a slut but In the back of my head I know college can change people and their are a lot of new experiences and people.

friend of mine at work went to Tech while I was at LSU(didn't know him then,) his girlfriend went to LSU, I definitely knew her then, she got around, KD I think, was a famous party favor at our house, they've been married for over 30 years, kids, grand kids

I have three close friends who have been together with their s/o's since High School.
One couple is married with kids for ten years, the other is finally engaged and getting married this year, the other couple fights every day and is probably about to finally fizzle out.
But people do do it.
Oh wait, none of them went to college, throwing in that x factor, I can't think of any.
College is kind of a free for all.

Three people come to mind when this is asked.
I had a friend who had a mutual break up with his HS girlfriend because they were going to different schools a decent distance away from each other (she stayed home and went to Louisville and he went to Syracuse). They kept in touch, dated other people, and when he moved back here after school they got back together. Been married 6 years now.
Had another friend who married her boyfriend right out of HS before going to college. Two kids and a separation late she is just now finishing her degree.
Then had another friend who simply dated his HS girlfriend throughout college (they both stayed here, him at Louisville and her at Bellarmine) and it worked out pretty well for them. They broke up at one point for about three months and tried dating around but both of them were pretty damn miserable without each other. Both say that the break did more to reinforce that they wanted to be together than anything else. They've been married for 7 years.

Didn't work out for me. At all. I feel bad in hindsight, but still, I wouldn't change it. I would probably do more.

The majority people I knew who were HS sweethearts broke up during freshman year of college. With that said I have 3 friends who are engaged/married to the same person they've dated since high school.
