So its illegal because people could grow their* own?

Just wondering your reasoning. Money the govt would be losing?

I did know a few black dudes who loved shrooms though. Outside of Jimi Hendrix I've never heard of one doing acid either

Me neither now that I think about it. Blacks seem to favor crack and weed the most.

A lot of vegetables can easily be grown in Louisiana, but how many do this? Going to the store is just too easy

Yes because they have always been available. People have not been forced to have gardens, unlike the pot industry.

Yeah, I can see that. I think the OGFTWAKA or whatever the frick it is called also promotes psychedelic use.

I'm not saying that's the ONLY reason, but I think it is a major part of it. They would make plenty of money from taxing it in stores, but they would always lose a lot due to home growers.

I also think the fear that it could lead to other drugs being legalized is another part of it.

Well luckily what is going down in CO and WA definitely has the ball rolling. It is only a matter of time.

Law enforcement doesn't want it legalized. That's the main crux. And I'm sure Big Pharma and the alcohol industry doesn't favor it either. And many voters are too ignorant to know any better. That's why weed stays illegal. And while current growers aren't all in favor of legalization bc yes some might be out of a job, pot growers don't have the ear of the politicians.

Cocaine is awesome in moderation.

Never tried H or angel dust. Not my dig.

So all the people supporting themselves by growing pot will just stop because they can buy it in a store? How do you think all these people get bud now?

You think politicians are keeping it illegal bc they're worried about pot growers' employment? Or lost tax revenue--which currently is zero? Ok.

You think the govt would make more $$ if weed were legal or illegal?

When it is legal for sure!

Less money spent for people in jail for possessing weed and the tax revenue.

However, they would not be getting tax money on 100% of the weed sold. Once they figure out a way to get closer to that 100% mark (close enough to make it worth their time to push the bills through)

You must not realize that when you pay your taxes you are paying your hard earned money to one of the biggest cartels in the world right?

shite, WA is around 80% right now (if you're dumb enough to buy the retail stuff).

So by your post on the last page

All comes down to money..

The US Govt is in the situation to make less to no money. First I've heard of them doing that.

If the biggest reason was money, their decision would not be based off what would make them the least amount.

Heroin looks pretty bad, cocaine is just amazing and does anybody even do pcp anymore? I thought that was just an 80s thing before crack came along?

I see what you're getting at... By this logic, as long as you pay most of your income tax then the government shouldn't get upset? We all know what happens to people in tax evasion... They get more time than killers in some cases.

ETA I'm sure they already make a decent amount on fines from people that get arrested.
