Does Nicholls offer an Associates degree in Pedro?

The graduation rate would be high.

If so, I need to go to their records office and request my 2nd diploma.

I've mainly played that the minimum voluntary bid is 7. On occassion I'll find someone that insists that dump bids be 6...I can live with that.

But frick cut throat. My father in law plays that shite. I hate it.

6 is minimum bid and you cant lead out with an off card if you have a trump

All of this = wrong. You can lead whatever you want.

Minimum bid is 7. Dump bid is still 7. Cut throat is beyond retarded. It ruins the game. I guess it's good for people who don't want to think.

That's a new one I've never heard before.

I think they were referring to the computer game.

I have played where people would take a set7 if they were forced and didn't have anything. I don't like that.

I haven't really played since my grandparents passed. So I would definitely be rusty on my strategy, but I still don't see any reason to make someone else follow suit. Those cards are just used to re-position the table to so you can use the actual trump cards for their purpose (or because you just don't have anything). An off card cannot win any points, they are trash cards. It doesn't matter what color they are. We can make up rules all we want, but it doesn't make you a better player.

I believe Nicholls State owes me a master's degree in Pedro. I've mastered the art of winning games against 2 other good players, even though my partner had downs.

why would you do that?

This may belong in the other thread about crappy things we have done.

On a few occasions, when dealer, I put the trash cards on top of the deck before the 2nd deal and delt out crap cards to everyone. Then I had the entire deck to choose from. pretty shitty I admit.

it does make you a better player though. for instance when I am dealer I keep all the off cards of one suit to expand the chances that I can drop the peed on someone unexpectedly. It creats a lot more possibilities.

Say you had NOTHING and we're surely going to get set. You could take -7 and the other team wouldn't be able to gain any points.

WTF kind of score keeping is this? If you get set 7, you opponents get at least 8.

I don't consider that strategy. That sounds like rules made up to give the dealer more power when he doesn't have any trump cards. No one else has the oppurtunity to build a hand of off cards to run the table when there aren't many trumps left. That's not strategy, that's the dealer getting an additional crutch.

Again, instead of taking the chance of getting set and them getting 8 points ahead, you just take -7. I never said I liked it, but I understand it.

It is strategy. And the deal goes around so every 4th time, you get that "crutch". Also, you have to count cards and pay attention to who plays what. It's a thinking man's game. It's not just "throw em out there and hope for the best."

What do you think about the dealer getting to bid last and look through the deck that is the perks of being dealer. You make those hands count because you have an advantage.

I play more aggressive if my partner or I am the dealer

Minimum bid 7.
Force bid 7.
frick cut throat. Much more skill involved with follow suit.
You can lead off with whatever you want, regardless of the amount of trumps you have/don't have.
You have to have the Ace and the deuce in your own hand to bid 14-28.
If you are forced to bid, you can take a "back 7". This way you lose your bid, but the other team doesn't get any points.

So it is written, frick Terrebonne parish.
