And then seize. Can't they cause seizures if you take too many?

I was honestly very reluctant to take the hydrocodone. Due to a torn L1/L2 and sciatic nerve pain I was addicted to opiates for a long, long time. After drinking a 6 pack and taking a couple hydros I feel better. Headache is still there but I don't seem to give a shite now LOL
Several years ago I wouldn't even notice taking 20mg of hydrocodone because my addiction was so bad. After some time off...... what do ya know it works again. Thankfully they didnt give me enough to restart a old habit.
Its funny cause getting them back when I wanted them was like pulling teeth. Now that I dont want them... the docs seem to give them to me at the drop of a hat. I actually refused oxycodone for back pain and instead take tramadol. You may laugh but if you arent already tolerant to opiates they do help......a bit. I'm scheduled to have the nerves in my back burnt off in a few months to kill the pain.
I am so glad they are working. Addiction with chronic pain is so easy.
I had two tooth extractions today. Abscess with headache from hell. 5 mg perc only one every 6 hours, does it for me, thank God.
Isn't it strange how the headache from a bad tooth can not go away for nothing, but amoxicillin works?

I just wanted to say I love these threads where the OT's medical folks and and former/current condition sufferers converge... I absorb so much stuff that may actually serve me well at some point in the future.

Me too, I worried I would still have a tolerance to them. What I do for a living is really demanding and I would eat pain killers like candy. Got to the point that they would stop working and I would switch to something stronger. Ended up spending a large portion of my income on black market meds. The 30mg oxys sold for $20 a piece and I could take 10 a day. I rationalized it by thinking that without them I couldnt make any money. Really crummy way to live life.
Now I've got proper treatment for my back and have a lot more control over myself. I've heard opiate addiction is like hell disguised as heaven which is damn accurate. Never realized how much they effected my attitude until I quit.

Sounds dumb but have you tried natural energy drinks, *something* to fill the vice you once had, needed for work?
