Is it worth doing it now or should I wait for a couple of years? I don't Think there's enough content in 1080i/1080p let alone 4K yet. Conventional wisdom says that prices will continue to fall over the next couple of years but we are in the market for a new 70 inch and I wonder if we should bite the bullet now or just get the regular 1080p HD.

I don't know, but I found myself in Best Buy the other day by the TV's and I stood there and watched one of those videos that they play (it was all in India) that are in ultra HD for like 10 minutes. It was incredible. Seriously was trying to rationalize the 6k+ spend...

Bought a 4K laptop and there really isn't that much content to make it worth the extra cost. Got a damn fine picture but the scaling is not really practical.

Not worth it yet. Especially since you don't really notice much difference at normal viewing distance,

I still have my 42" 1080 I bought in 09. See no reason to get rid of it yet. Still works perfect.

How fricking clear do you people need a tv to be? Also,70 inches? For what? So you can watch 23 Jump Street when it comes out.

I would love to have one when editing video though, as the monitor.

Bought a 65 in LG 4k. I love it. There's not much 4k programming out, but it's still a good HD picture nonetheless. And If you have DirectTV they offer 4K channels for Sony 4k's and allegedly will have 4k for other 4k TV's in the coming months

There is no broadcast TV content in even 1080p yet. No point in spending money on 4k yet.

Just waiting on decent OLED sets now.

Exactly. 4k isn't the answer and no one has a reason to upgrade until OLED that are paper thin are out there. TV tech has stagnated. 4K is a gimmick just like "LED" TVs are.
