I'm having it in a few weeks and wanted to know if anyone had good or bad experiences? Any best practices or things to watch out for?

Is it standard TURP?

There are a few different procedures used now for prostates.

Traditional T.U.R.P, Greenlight Xps (laser). Both of these require ablation, and you'll have a catheter for a period of time.

Some patients elect to have a eurolift done, which is no ablation or catheter needed. The procedure lasts about 15 minutes with a trained surgeon.

PAE is also an option for some.

Why TURP and not robotic prostatectomy? Also, if/when you’re offered a spinal as opposed to a general anesthetic I highly suggest you take it. No pain when you wake up and youll end up having a lot less bleeding in PACU.

I wasn't a fan of the scope so I'm not eagerly anticipating this next torture. All in the name of Peedom! I've had years of difficulty and multiple meds aren't working.

I’ve been preaching the benefits of regular prostate massage on this site for years but people just don’t want to hear it.

He just needs the passage through the prostate reamed out to improve urine flow, not related to cancer, so no need to get invasive.

I’d have to go under general anesthesia...there is zero chance I could willingly and consciously allow that to go up my piss hole...I’m getting antsy at the thought! I’ll just piss 57x a day!
