i mean if you and a girl interact and she just doesn't respond sexually, it's one thing

but the "Bad Friend Zone" is when it's an almost parasitic relationship both ways, where one uses the other for emotional support while dangling more in front, and the other will always follow that carrot to the depths of frustration

I've never gone to that extreme, but I have gone to the movies and stuff with girls that we split cost on when I was younger.

Contrary to popular belief, it's possible to hang out with chicks and not have sex.

I've done it.
If you have friends, that are women, you can hang out and buy them drinks and what not. Meet up with them and chat.

That dude has to be gay. My best friend is a male, and I'm pretty sure he'd kill me if I suggested doing any of those things.

some dudes put that p on a pedestal and start thinking with the wrong head. Just sad.

And yes I do think he is gay or hope he is.

Uh, if I have a plutonic girl friend, I sure as hell am not buying her drinks. There's a reason you buy drinks for girls, and it's not to be just a nice guy.

That baw is flaming gay.

I've had really good friends that were girls that were mostly platonic, but we did hook up once or twice. There was definitely some level of sexual tension there. To "friend date" a girl is only acceptable if you couldn't dream of putting your junk in a vag.

The whole "no female friends unless you're trying to frick them" is a solid comedy bit but it's overplayed as a way to describe interactions.

It's less the case now, but back in college and grad school I had plenty of female friends I'd hang out with but wasn't actively trying to frick. And I'm sure there were some I didn't want to frick at all.

The "good" friend zone exists when there exists a lack of sexual attraction. There is no leading on. Neither party is using the other for anything but a friendship and has zero aspiration for anything more than that.

The other, the bad friend zone, is what this appears to be (if he's not gay): one side strings the other on despite having no interest in a romantic relationship. They keep them around to get the positive aspects of a relationship for themselves to supliment their shitty romantic relationships. The "friend" is strung along and kept as a lifeboat by the promise that maybe someday they might be more than friends, but not now.

i mean i have several female friends who sound like they'd be great/fun to date, but i know they're batshit insane and would never. just one example of how you can be friends with a girl without actively trying to be with them. and there are girls that at one point i wanted to date but then something happened adn i don't now.

this is all just macho bullshite

i bet a lot of these baws acting all high and mighty also act like they never cry

Agree. Plus, there's a difference between "I'd frick her if she stripped down to naked and told me to frick her" vs. "I'm actively trying to sleep with my friend".

Yes, I have, but not to that extent. I was friend zoned and trying to get out of it. Went to a movie and I bought her ticket. Went to dinner (nothing fancy) and bought her dinner. I was 19 and an idiot at the time. I wish I could go back and not waste almost a year of my life chasing that one.
