Have you ever met someone that was so kind, it made you feel bad about yourself?

I was talking to a friend, sharing old football stories. I talked about playing Catholic, and hanging out after with Warrick Dunn.

Guy was so genuine, nice, and warm that it humbled me. I wouldn't even swear for, like, a week after.

Only other person I met like that was my pastor at Clearwater Baptist in Athens, TN.

Anyone ever had that effect on you?

Yeah, myself. I’m also extraordinarily humble.

Guy I worked with in Odessa. Nicest dude, for sure made me feel like a piece of shite just talking to him. Every rig wanted him on location for the jobs we ran.

Yep, a family friend. She helps others all the time, almost to a fault and her own self detriment. I will love her until the end of time for it, but I've advised her a few times to put herself first every now and then. She ain't wired that way, though.

I find it suspicious when people are overly nice

Generally, those type people are more talk than action. The true ones just do what they do without talking about it or seeking validation.

My parents. And Chief Carl Dunn of the Baker police department. I don’t think he has ever been angry in his life. His wife also.

Four of the kindest, gentle , loving folks that I have known.

A bus boy at Pizza hut somewhere in the Florida keys 15 years ago. He was black, cripple, and 60ish years old. Me and my brother were in our 20's, and sat watching him interact with people for about an hour while we ate. He came to our table to talk to us multiple times. When we left I told my brother I felt like shite about myself after watching this guy and his positivity.

I'm married to one, and that is no exaggeration.

I feel like a member of the Hells Angels compared to her.

Yep. I was sitting at a red light a couple of months ago and saw this rough looking homeless dude in a wheelchair. He was slowly trying to roll himself up the turn lane and I had the thought "he's going to get hit" but did nothing. All of a sudden a guy in another car leaps out, runs over to him and pushes him to safety. Felt like shite...why didn't I try to help?

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'Cause I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
But I'm doin' the best that I can!

My stepdad. Old cowboy, doesn't have bad days and always has a simple answer for seemingly complex issues. Dying breed sums him up.
