Eh. The Ottomans did a pretty good job of subjugating Christians and Jews without putting them to the sword.

Point granted. I'm just saying that the Ottomans, Umayyads, etc., didn't just wholesale slaughter infidels. Especially Jews. They found them quite useful, and trustworthy, for court matters. I'm sure crazy4lsu will come along with much greater information on the subject, as he always does.

Haha I can't help it that early and medieval Islam comes up so often on these boards, and I happen to be obsessed with that era.

Since NOLA is banning anything ever to do with slavery, will Islam be banned? Mohammad had many black slaves and the slave trade into makka was, well, pretty harsh.
