Curious if anyone has been marked injured, or dead after a storm on FB, or does this only apply to those who made it safely through the storm.

Just like those annoyingly happy couples who only post how awesome their lives or and not the fact that they are drowning in credit card debt and hate each other, no one wants to post anything bad about themselves or their families on facebook.

I found out that you can actually designate somebody to access your Facebook account if you die. It is in the Settings.

So, I guess someone could update your status to say "I'm dead. :-("

But, how would facebook know that you're actually dead. Is there some sort of verification process? Could that person access your account while you're still alive?

Good question, as even if the dead could post on FB post mortem, there are no other buttons to select but safe. If you’re in a hospital bed from almost drowning, no buttons for you either. Only if you’re safe.

Don't have a FB.

in Katrina I lost 3 les pauls (one was a custom other two were traditional, all from the 90s), gibson thunderbird bass, Engl head and 4x12 cab, ampeg bass amp...just..I was alive but I wasn't safe.

I don't care what anyone says, things can't be replaced.

Some people mark themselves safe for attention. However, they serve a purpose. I was happy to see my siblings mark themselves safe after the LV shooting as they all work close by.
