I see it as the wave of the future for education. The 'teacher' gets to pick and choose who the students are. No discipline problems. Small class sizes. More one on one learning. Cheaper than 'private' school. What's the drawback???

They don't learn to be good little cogs in the machine?

My kids are homeschooled and are awesome. Tell yourself whatever story you want about how great it is for kids to sit in a classroom for 8 hours a day listening to a half-interested teacher, being taught exactly the same way as kids with different abilities and backgrounds, having 5 minutes of recess, etc etc, but we'll keep doing our thing.

As I mentioned much earlier, I home schooled my son in the earlier grades and he did phenomenal. When I finally enrolled him in public school, he scored 99.9 percentile in math and reading, etc. I can honestly say we never used a text book, worksheets or had "class time".

Everything we did was just part of the fun we had together playing. Whatever he was interested in learning about was what I based my lessons on (and worked math, science, vocabulary into our exploration of that interest).

I will be starting a co-p homeschooling group when my youngest step-granddaughter is about 3 years old. Religion will play NO part in. I will begin teaching her ABC, numbers, colors and basic words when she is about 2 and expect she will be reading well at 3. She will learn all of this thru our play together.

The others in our co-op will be other friends who do not wish to send their child to the local public school with is unacceptable and do not wish to pay astronomical fees to send their kid 30 miles away each day to get to it.

By about 4th grade, many home schooled kids are fairly independent in doing their class work. They often advance to doing the next "grade's" classwork and work at their own pace. This independence instills independence, a work ethnic and self discipline in getting things done. They will have access to computer based lesson, online teachers and tutors and testing online.

Since homeschooling only takes about 3 hours a day it gives the children more time to socialize and to pursue their own interests. Sports, field trips and other activities such as music and such of often planned with other home school parents so the kids often socialize and have fun.

It must be the public schooling that turned you into such a well-adjusted young man with the awesome social skills displayed in this post. Kudos to your teachers and peers!

Jesus bro! You need a reality show, it would have been better if it had started before you made your career change though since it could have showed all of that.

If only I shared your opinions on life, I could be a winner.
Ah well, some people have to lose.

Have you seen Return of The Jedi? I imagine it must look like the Sarlacc Pit after 7 but I am sure it is normal.

Amazing how normal it is after 7...

Yeah people at work joke and ask if I'm trying for a reality show.. That's all we need is another one.. I wouldn't mind the extra income though, lol..

Have you considered getting snipped? Or getting her BC?

Or do you want this many kids? To each his own. Takes a serious man to take care of and provide for 7 kids. Kudos.

You're right, most homeschooled kids wouldn't want to see a vagina.

It gets serious after you have the first one.

After 7, I'm guessing it's just comical.

I have been with girls that have had 3 and they have been just as tight as girls with none, its amazing how they can snap back. I am sure you get the reality show thing all of the time because it probably would be entertaining, well for a reality show anyways.

Other than 7 kids, why is his life so fascinating? Did I miss a thread about him?

I feel left out

We wanted this many.. I always tell people that after 3 it's all the same..

My 2 oldest daughters, 10 & 9, were at the last birth.. I think my 9 year old may want to go in that field of study. She has shown a lot of interest.
