Needs to be vacant until Drew retires, then call it Brees Circle.

Homer Plessy. Historical civil rights figure, but looks white and has a beard. Everybody wins!

Landrieu is the obvious answer. He is finally vanquishing the beast. He is a great American

Get a Lenin statue like Seattle.

Guy who ordered the deaths of thousands and thousands of political dissenters? Fine. Statue of a great American who tried to hold the Union together as long as possible and then reluctantly fought for his home state because he refused to turn his back on it? Nope.

THe most fitting statue would be one of a black man in a beret, leather jacket, black shirt, and black pants with his right arm in the air and his hand in a fist.

Under neath, instead of a stand, is a carved marble set of words:

black
power.

Benjamin "the beast" Butler could replace Beauregard, Grant could replace Lee (facing south)- hell Landreiu might even call it winners circle, and Lincoln could replace Jeff Davis.

The Battle of Liberty Place Monument could just be demolished (although the history really is interesting for anyone who is interested clearly not Landrieu).

Because Landreiu doesn't give two shits about history, I wouldn't be surprised if any of the above came true.
